About the threadwork

Tilla is the Kashmiri tradition worked in metallic gold or silver thread, historically kept for wedding pherans and the dressiest clothing. Where Aari shows flowing florals in coloured thread, Tilla works by catching light off the metal, which is why the same motif reads far more formal. Slight variation in the metallic sheen across a garment is normal.
