The Collection

Kashmiri stoles, named for exactly what they are

Embroidered stoles, full length, single size, sent from Pampore. ₹1,200 – ₹3,700 — the price does one honest job: it tells you how much thread went in.

If a title says Tusha, the base is Tusha — soft, light, falls rather than holds a shape. Nothing here is sold as a vague "Kashmiri shawl", because that phrase is how the real fabric gets hidden.

The range — lightest work to finest

The band shows stitch density
Pala StoleBlack

Lightest work. The one you reach for on a normal day.
Jali Tusha StoleBerry
₹1,500
Open jali ground, so it wears cool.
Jama Nafki Tusha StoleMaroon · Turquoise

Kalamkari Fine StoleIvory · Taupe

The finest needle here. Bridal and gifting.

Same craft, same valley — more hours as you go down. That is the whole price story.

Four fabrics, one phrase

"Kashmiri shawl" covers four very different cloths at very different prices. Knowing which one you are offered is most of the decision.

Pashmina
Fine Changthangi goat fibre, hand-spun. Genuine pieces carry a GI tag and a test report.
₹15,000+
Tusha
Soft, light Kashmiri base cloth. Drapes well, takes a needle cleanly, comfortable most of the year.

Kani
The pattern is woven in with wooden bobbins, not stitched on. Months per piece.
₹25,000+
Viscose
Machine-made synthetic blends, usually printed, sold across India as Kashmiri.
₹300–900

We do not stock Pashmina, and we will not relabel a stole to make a sale.

Anything offered as Pashmina at two or three thousand rupees is not Pashmina. Ours is priced as exactly what it is.

Five checks, on any seller

1
Start with the arithmetic. No margin structure turns weeks of hand-spinning into ₹2,500. Price names the fibre before the label does.
2
Forget the ring test. Any fine, loosely woven cloth slides through a ring, viscose included. It proves the weave, not the fibre.
3
Turn it over. Embroidery leaves a thread path on the reverse. A print leaves a blank or faded back.
4
Make them name the base. "Kashmiri" is not a fabric. A seller who will not say the word is avoiding the question.
5
Ask for a daylight photo. Screens lie about colour. Anyone with nothing to hide will send one.

What damages a stole

It is the iron. Low heat, reverse only — a hot plate flattens the raised stitch for good.

Sunlight while drying dulls thread colour. Dry flat, in shade.

Wringing. Press the water out in a towel instead.

At home: cold water, mild detergent, no soaking. Dry-clean the denser pieces.

Never scissors on a pulled thread. Push it back through from the reverse.
