What You Can Do Here

This is a working facility, not a showroom — which is exactly why it is worth the trip.

  • See Mongra saffron being sorted and graded by hand
  • Compare grades side by side before deciding what to buy
  • Do the warm-water test yourself and watch the colour release
  • Taste dry fruits and honey varieties before choosing
  • Pick up wedding and corporate gifting in person
  • Carry your purchase home instead of waiting on a courier

Come During the Harvest

For roughly three weeks between late October and early November, the fields around Pampore turn purple and the whole town smells of drying saffron. Flowers are picked at dawn, before the sun opens them fully, and the stigma is separated by hand the same day.

It takes about 150 flowers to yield a single gram of dried saffron. Watching an afternoon of that work explains the price better than any product page can.

If you are travelling through Kashmir in that window, tell us in advance — we will let you know which fields are in bloom and the best hour to go.

Bloom dates shift a little each year with the weather. Message us in mid-October for that season's timing.
