A Geographical Indication is a legal mark tying a product to a defined place of origin. For saffron it certifies the crop was grown in the recognised Kashmir saffron belt and passed through the registered traceability process. It is a statement about origin, not about strand quality.

Not in itself. Both our saffron packs are Grade 1 Mongra from Pampore — the same flower, the same grade of strand. What the GI pack adds is documented origin and traceability.

Buyers who need documentation: gifting where provenance matters, corporate or institutional purchase, resale, or anyone who wants the certified-origin pack. For everyday home cooking our standard Mongra performs identically for less.

A pinch of ten to fifteen threads for a family-sized dish. One gram covers roughly fifteen to twenty servings, so a one gram pack lasts most households months.

Sealed, away from light, heat and moisture. Light dulls saffron faster than age does. Stored properly the aroma holds well for up to two years.
