What Goes Into Our Skincare
We sold saffron long before we sold skincare — and that is the honest reason this range exists. Here is what each ingredient is, what it does, and just as importantly, what it does not do.

What We Will Not Tell YouRead this first
No fairness claims · No medical claimsNothing on this site changes your complexion, cures a condition, or treats hair loss. Skincare is cosmetic care: well-hydrated, well-cared-for skin looks better and catches light more evenly — that is what people actually notice. Any brand promising more than that is selling you a story.
S
Kashmiri SaffronCrocus sativus · Pampore
The same Grade 1 Mongra we sell as a spice. Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world by weight, which is why a cheap saffron cream almost always contains either a trace amount or added colour. Because we source it ourselves, ours carries a meaningful quantity.
What it doesA traditional Ayurvedic skin ingredient, valued for a warm, radiant finish on the skin.
What it doesn'tIt will not lighten your skin tone. No saffron preparation does.
Found in
Kumkumadi facial oil, kumkumadi night cream, saffron cream, saffron face wash, glow serum.
A
Cold-Pressed Almond OilLight carrier oil
Sweet almond oil — not bitter almond, which is a different variety and not suitable for cosmetic use. Light, absorbs reasonably quickly, and the standard carrier for diluting anything concentrated.
-
Dose: 3–4 drops for the whole face. A greasy result is nearly always a quantity problem, not an oil problem.
- Sold on its own, and used as a base across the oil-based range.
W
Cold-Pressed Walnut OilHeavy carrier oil
Kashmiri walnut oil is heavier and slower to sink in than almond — which is the point, not a drawback. That slowness makes it an overnight scalp and dry-skin oil rather than a morning face oil.
Worth knowingWalnut oil is the fastest of our oils to turn. A sharp or paint-like smell means the bottle has gone rancid and should be discarded.
R
RoseRosa damascena · water & gulkand
Real rose water has a soft, slightly green scent that fades within minutes. A sweet, strong scent lasting hours is added fragrance. That is a test you can run on any bottle — including ours.
-
Found in: rose water toner, rose lip butter, gulkand (edible).
-
Honest framing: a toner is a bridge, not a treatment. Its real job is leaving skin damp so whatever goes on next absorbs properly.
G
Walnut Shell GranulesPhysical exfoliant
Ground walnut shell held in a botanical oil base rather than a foaming detergent base.
Do thisOnce a week. Damp skin, light circles, 30 seconds. The grains are the tool — your hand stays light. Moisturise after.
Not thisDaily scrubbing, hard pressure, or use on active acne or broken skin. Over-scrubbing strips skin and makes oiliness worse.
H
Hyaluronic AcidHumectant
It holds water — it does not create it. That is why it must go on damp skin and be sealed with a cream. Applied to dry skin in a dry room it can draw moisture upward from deeper layers and leave the face feeling tighter, which is the exact complaint people report about hyaluronic serums.
L
Lavender Essential OilDilute before use
Not a body oilAn essential oil is concentrated and must be diluted in a carrier — 1–2 drops per teaspoon — before it touches skin. Never apply it neat, keep it away from eyes, and avoid use on infants and pets.
A distilled essential oil varies slightly from batch to batch. A manufactured fragrance oil smells identical every single time. That difference is the tell.
B
Honey & BeeswaxTexture & humectant
From our own Kashmiri honey line — acacia, apple blossom and sulai. Used for texture and moisture retention in balms and butters.

Before You Use AnythingFour rules
-
Patch test. Inner arm, 24 hours, before anything goes near your face — natural does not mean everyone tolerates it.
-
Order of use: cleanse → rose water → serum → cream. Oils last, at night.
-
Apply on damp skin. The single free habit that improves almost every product here.
- Stop and speak to a dermatologist if anything stings, reddens or itches persistently.
